The Hardware Global Supply Management (GSM) - Silicon & Electronic Components team manages high-complexity, high-value commercial sourcing for custom Silicon (E.g. ASICs, SoCs, OSAT/packaging) and Electronic Components (E.g. Passives, Discretes, PCB, Analog/Mixed Signal, Microcontrollers). The team is at the forefront of combining engineering architecture with strong business strategies to enable robust technology solutions at the right time to empower key features and products, pioneering on hardware sourcing excellence and AI-driven automation. Join us at Waymo for a fun and rewarding internship!   You will: Perform should-cost modeling, component teardown analysis RFP/RFQ process documentation and template standardization; automation for feedback ingestion and analysis   You have: Enrolled in a BS or MS program in Supply Chain Management, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, or related technical fields. Understanding of semiconductor and electronic components fabrication, packaging, passive/discrete component lifecycles, and design fundamentals. Proficiency in AI and automation via prompting, Python scripting, agentic automation frameworks, and workspace automation. Strong experience with bottom-up should-cost modeling, Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), and large-scale BOM/financial analytics in Excel/Sheets.   We prefer: Strong ability to collaborate with engineering/architecture teams to drive commercial supplier negotiations and financial modeling for component selection processes. Prior experience building prototype/NPI pipelines with validation logging and human-in-the-loop review. Communication skills with the ability to synthesize complex technical tradeoffs into crisp executive summaries. Highly capable of navigating ambiguity and operating with independence in a fast-paced environment.   Note: This will be a hybrid onsite internship position.
