Account Manager – Paper & Packaging Chemicals (Iberia West)

Location: Home Office (Spain – Galicia Region) Business: Pulp & Tissue Industry - Industrial Chemicals Languages: Spanish (native), English (fluent), Portuguese (an advantage)

Travel: ~50–70% (Galicia and Portugal)

About the Role

As an Account Manager, you will take full ownership of a portfolio of customers in the paper and packaging industry. Your mission is to retain, grow, and develop long-term partnerships by delivering value-based chemical solutions that improve customer performance and profitability. This role combines commercial accountability, technical value selling, and project-driven growth in a highly customer-facing environment.

What You Will Do

  • Own and grow assigned accounts with responsibility for sales, margin, and profitability
  • Build trusted relationships across operations, technical teams, procurement, and management
  • Identify and develop continuous improvement projects with measurable customer value
  • Lead and evaluate mill trials and application projects, from planning to results
  • Expand business through new opportunities, upselling, and cross-selling
  • Act as the primary Buckman contact for your customers
  • Collaborate closely with technical, business development, and regional teams
  • Ensure safe, compliant, and professional operations at all customer sites

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (e.g. Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pulp & Paper, Biology)
  • 2+ years’ experience in technical B2B sales (Pulp, tissue, packaging, water treatment, or industrial chemicals)
  • Strong commercial mindset with technical credibility
  • Ability to manage projects, priorities, and customer expectations independently
  • Confident communicator who builds trust and long-term relationships
