The company has achieved multiple industry firsts, including being the first to power a demonstration vehicle with a global OEM (Mercedes- Benz) which achieved over 1,200 km (749 mi) of range, and the first to earn UN 38.3 certification for automotive-sized lithium-metal solid-state cells, the first to deliver B-samples of automotive-sized solid-state batteries to major OEMs.    The Opportunity: Factorial Energy is seeking an Accounting Manager to join our team at our Cheonan, South Korea site. This person will be responsible for managing the general ledger and reviewing journal entries, owning inventory and cost accounting for our manufacturing operations, and reviewing and approving accounts payable transactions, among other general operational accounting tasks. The ideal candidate will bring strong manufacturing cost accounting experience, solid knowledge of both US GAAP and Korean statutory accounting requirements, and the ability to partner closely with our global finance and operations teams.   In this role, you will: Manage the general ledger for the South Korea entity, ensuring transactions are recorded accurately and on time in accordance with US GAAP and Korean statutory requirements. Review and approve journal entries prepared by the local accounting team, ensuring proper support, account coding, and adherence to close deadlines. Own inventory and cost accounting for the manufacturing operation, cost allocations, and analysis of purchase price, labor, and overhead. Oversee inventory valuation, cycle counts, and physical inventory processes in partnership with manufacturing and supply chain teams. Review and approve accounts payable transactions, ensuring proper authorization, coding, and compliance with company policy and local regulations. Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process for the South Korea entity, including account reconciliations and supporting schedules. Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and government authorities on statutory audits, tax filings, and regulatory compliance in South Korea. Prepare local statutory financial statements and support consolidation with the corporate US accounting team. Design, document, and maintain internal controls over the general ledger, inventory, and accounts payable processes. Identify and drive process improvements and system enhancements (e.g., ERP) to support accounting operations as the site scales. Mentor and develop local accounting team members.   We are looking for people who: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Korean CPA, US CPA, or equivalent professional certification preferred. 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including hands-on inventory and cost accounting in a manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of US GAAP and Korean GAAP/K-IFRS, with experience preparing or supporting statutory financial statements in South Korea Demonstrated experience managing month-end close, general l.edger, and accounts payable processes. Experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP) and advanced Excel skills. Business-level fluency in Korean and English, with the ability to communicate effectively with the US headquarters finance team. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced, growing manufacturing environment. Experience in a startup or high-growth manufacturing company is a plus, particularly in battery, automotive, or advanced materials industries.   Work Location:  Cheonan, South Korea   Factorial Energy is an equal opportunity employer that values diversity at all levels.
