Full job description
Manage and oversee team member job performance, time and attendance, and scheduling for assigned Accounting Department personnel. Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, calculate taxes payable, prepare standard, ad hoc financial information utilizing knowledge of standard Accounting practices and procedures, including those regarding the Gaming Industry regarding MICs, Title 31, Internal Controls, and regulatory compliance.
- Responsible for personnel related matters for assigned team members including interviewing, hiring, scheduling, training, evaluating, coaching, promoting/demoting, and discharging.
- Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and calculate taxes payable
- Remit tax reports and filings to the State and Gaming Commission.
- Supervise quarterly inventory and other audits.
- Review Cage Audits and ensure proper coding of activity.
- Review Revenue and Compliance Audits as needed.
- Recognize incomplete data and determine action to be taken.
- Other duties assigned by Management.
Qualifications and requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Two (2) years of practical experience in gaming accounting and one (1) year of supervisory level experience strongly preferred.
- Process and maintain knowledge of, and accurately apply, generally accepted accounting principles and practices (GAAP).
- Knowledge of Title 31 and gaming regulations is preferred.
- Detail Oriented.
- Independent thinker and results driven.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Must be able to obtain/maintain any necessary certifications and/or licenses as required by local gaming regulations.
- Knowledgeable in gaming and non-gaming operations and accounting practices.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, specifically Excel and Word.
