We are a centralised communications and marketing function providing strategic and tactical marketing and communications support across Stats NZ.   You’ll help shape how Stats NZ connects with its audiences through engaging, audience-focused communications. You’ll take the day-to-day lead for our social media activity, create digital content including short-form video, and contribute to wider communications and marketing projects across a broad range of topics. This is an opportunity to bring fresh ideas, respond to emerging trends and take real ownership of our social and digital channels.What you bring | Nōu te rourou We’re looking for someone who brings: Experience creating, publishing and evaluating social media and digital content for an organisation Strong writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to make complex information clear and engaging Practical experience creating short-form video and simple visual content An understanding of social media analytics, audience insights and how to use them to improve content The ability to tailor communications for different channels and audiences Strong relationship-building, organisation and time-management skills Creativity, sound judgement and a willingness to learn and adapt A tertiary qualification in communications, marketing, public relations, journalism or a related field, or equivalent knowledge Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and applying cultural capability in their practice We recognise that valuable skills can come from a range of industries, including unpaid work.
