Overview
The African Union's Enterprise Africa Network is accepting Cohort 2 applications for a 12-month fellowship supporting 100 youth- and women-led small enterprises from across all 55 AU Member States.
Complete fellowship details
Fellows receive structured training across ten modules, expert mentorship through African Union partners, access to the African Trade Observatory and AfCFTA market intelligence tools, and participation in continental events. Tier 1 and Tier 2 fellows receive virtual market-entry sessions across ten AfCFTA pilot countries, while Tier 3 fellows receive B2B matchmaking. The cohort targets enterprises in manufacturing, agro-processing, creative industries, ICT/digital, fintech, health, and logistics/transport. The program is expected to begin in November 2026.
Eligibility requirements
Applicants must lead youth- or women-led small enterprises formally registered and operating in an African Union Member State, with at least two years of operations and at least three full-time employees. Tier placement depends on enterprise maturity. Current/former African Union Commission staff, EAN institutional partner representatives, Regional Economic Community staff, and graduates of a previous EAN Fellowship cohort are not eligible.
Tips for this fellowship
Practical Job and Scholarship guidance. These tips do not replace official rules or create new eligibility requirements.
- Check eligibility, funding coverage, study/project level and every required document before investing time in the application.
- Prepare transcripts, references, language tests, proposal/motivation statement and proof documents early.
- Separate the scholarship deadline from any university/program admission deadline; they may be different.
- Treat “fully funded” as a source fact only when the official provider explicitly confirms the covered costs.
