American University of Sharjah accepts incoming exchange and visiting students for fall, spring and summer study, including students from bilateral partner institutions and eligible visiting students without a formal home-university exchange agreement.

AUS lists bilateral partners and also routes for US students through API and ISEP. Visiting students may study at AUS for a semester or full academic year even without a formal exchange agreement. AUS states that incoming exchange applicants are responsible for applicable tuition and compulsory fees, including an AED 300 application fee; late applications are subject to a non-refundable AED 800 deposit that is applied toward tuition if the student completes enrollment.
Eligibility requirements
Exchange applicants must have at least a 2.75 GPA and normally TOEFL 550/80 iBT or IELTS Academic 6.5. The English requirement may be waived in specified cases described by AUS. Applicants must be in good standing at their home university and provide an official transcript, enrollment certificate, passport copy, proof of English proficiency, a professor recommendation and an application essay.
