AUS offers bilateral exchange and ISEP routes. Bilateral applicants may select up to three partner universities per semester; ISEP gives access to a wider network after initial IXO approval. AUS states recurring IXO deadlines of the fourth Thursday of April for spring exchange and the fourth Thursday of November for fall exchange. Bilateral applicants currently pay a non-refundable AED 525 application fee; ISEP applicants pay a non-refundable AED 735 fee to IXO, later credited toward ISEP fees. A bilateral nomination accepted by the student requires an AED 1,000 non-refundable placement deposit that counts toward AUS tuition, while ISEP charges a USD 450 placement fee after placement. Housing, insurance and other costs depend on route and host. AUS grants or AUS-funded scholarships may continue only where the university's stated approval and fee conditions are met.
Eligibility requirements
AUS applicants must be in good standing, have at least 45 credits by the start of the semester abroad, have at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA (with most programs requiring at least 2.75), and may not study abroad during their graduating semester or complete senior design abroad. Program- or major-specific restrictions can add requirements. Graduate-student rules differ and must be confirmed with the International Exchange Office.
