About the Role
ITHR Technologies Consulting LLC is seeking an experienced API Manager to lead the design, governance, and delivery of APIs powering digital transformation in the banking sector. This role will be pivotal in enabling secure integrations, advancing open banking initiatives, and ensuring scalability and compliance across our digital ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
API Strategy & Governance
Develop and execute the banks API-first strategy in line with business and regulatory needs.
Establish and enforce API governance frameworks (standards, documentation, policies).
Ensure regulatory compliance (PSD2, Open Banking, GDPR, PCI-DSS, UAE Central Bank regulations).
API Development & Management
Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of APIs (design, build, deploy, monitor, retire).
Manage API platforms and gateways (Apigee, Mulesoft, Kong, WSO2, etc.).
Guarantee APIs meet standards of security, performance, scalability, and resilience.
Collaboration & Integration
Partner with business stakeholders to identify API integration opportunities.
Lead integration of APIs with core banking systems, payments, CRM, and digital channels.
Manage partner, vendor, and fintech collaborations through APIs.
Monitoring & Optimization
Define and track API KPIs and SLAs for performance and availability.
Implement robust analytics, logging, and monitoring tools.
Enhance developer experience with sandboxes, portals, and clear documentation.
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelors/Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
8+ years of IT experience, with minimum 4 years in API management.
Strong expertise in REST, SOAP, GraphQL and security frameworks (OAuth2.0, JWT, OpenID Connect, TLS, SAML).
Hands-on experience with API management platforms (Apigee, Mulesoft, WSO2, Kong).
Background in banking/financial services with knowledge of core banking integrations.
Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
