The Application Design Engineer is responsible for designing, engineering, configuring, testing, and commissioning PLC and SCADA solutions for customer projects within the Digital Energy business. The role supports the full project lifecycle, from understanding customer requirements and preparing technical solutions to factory testing, site commissioning, and project handover.
Main Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and commission PLC & SCADA hardware and software systems.
- Develop automation solutions for industrial systems and substations.
- Configure communication networks and industrial protocols (Modbus, Profibus, IEC 61850, etc.).
- Prepare technical designs, project documentation, and customer proposals.
- Participate in project execution and ensure compliance with technical requirements.
- Perform quality testing, Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), and site commissioning.
- Deliver customer training on software and hardware solutions.
- Support project planning, risk identification, and scope definition.
- Travel to customer sites locally and internationally when required.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Power Engineering.
- 1–4 years of relevant experience in automation, PLC, and SCADA systems.
- Hands-on experience with PLC & SCADA configuration.
- Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (Modbus, Profibus, IEC 61850).
- Experience in substation automation is a strong advantage.
- Knowledge of Modicon PLC, EPO, EPAS, or Wonderware System Platform is a plus.
- Basic programming knowledge is preferred.
- Strong English communication skills.
- French or Spanish is a plus.

- Familiar with PLC programming, SCADA configuration, commissioning, and testing activities.
- Comfortable working directly with customers and project teams.
- Willing to travel and work on-site during project execution.
