Overview
Armory is building the transaction network for US healthcare services.
Full job description
Armory is building the transaction network for US healthcare services. Payments became infrastructure. Telecom became infrastructure. The complexity of routing money or connecting two people anywhere in the world disappeared behind reliable networks, and the end user simply transacts. Our mission is to do that for healthcare: rebuild the transaction rails from new primitives that make getting care as simple as ordering takeout. We're a small team in New York, in person every day. We've built and shipped complex workflow and AI systems for HHS, NIH, and other critical institutions. We're here because few systems matter more to the daily lives of Americans, and few are more in need of rebuilding. THE ROLE As an Applied AI Engineer, you play two roles: a field product engineer who viscerally understands what customers actually need, and a systems builder who makes it real. You work across a tight-knit team of engineers, strategists, and business development, taking raw signal from the field and metabolizing it into what needs to be built, not one-off solutions, but components of an architected system. Every piece of code you ship compounds into the machine we're building for US healthcare. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Strong engineering fundamentals: 2+ years building production software. You can architect a system, reason about how the pieces fit, and hold a clear line on engineering principles.
- Bias for leverage: you like pulling a thread all the way and making hard things repeatable, so the next problem is easier than the last.
- Product sense: you don't just build the ticket; you notice what the platform actually needs and build toward it.
- Clear communicator: you explain technical decisions plainly, and you raise problems with the product or the plan early rather than working around them. COMPENSATION $140,000 - $200,000 + competitive equity Applicant must be a U.S. citizen or national, or U.S. lawful permanent resident. This is a full-time, in-person position based at our New York City office.
