Overview

Blue Raster is a GIS consulting company that helps clients leverage location intelligence and enterprise GIS to improve their operations and achieve complex data management and analysis workflows. This position will support our growing ArcGIS Enterprise implementation practice. Our talented team delivers geospatial workflows and infrastructure that have a direct impact on our clients and their missions. These solutions leverage services hosted in ArcGIS Enterprise and extend the out of the box capabilities to provide our clients with customized tools to meet their unique needs. Our partners include world renowned non-profit and mission driven organizations, state, local, and federal government agencies, and commercial clients.

Join Blue Raster to help our team serve our growing customer base. You’ll be working closely with our team and clients to deploy secure, resilient, and scalable GIS infrastructure, data pipelines, as well as maintain existing infrastructure. This position bridges implementation and operations. You'll spend time deploying new ArcGIS Enterprise infrastructure for clients while maintaining responsibility for the uptime and performance of existing production environments. Our ideal candidate is a skilled problem solver and communicator. You will be expected to apply your understanding of enterprise GIS and cloud architecture to deploy new applications and infrastructure while ensuring the uptime of existing systems.

Responsibilities

  • install, configure, and upgrade ArcGIS Enterprise in single-machine, multi-machine, and highly available architectures.

  • Provision and configure cloud services in Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud to support enterprise GIS deployments and data-centric applications.

  • Deploy and administer enterprise geodatabases in PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or Oracle, on premises and in the cloud.

  • Perform routine maintenance across client environments, including OS and ArcGIS Enterprise patching, security updates, certificate renewals, and annual license updates.

  • Monitor deployed infrastructure using Zabbix and ArcGIS Monitor, configure proactive alerting, and respond to incidents to ensure uptime.

  • Support recurring managed services engagements across multiple concurrent client environments, including scheduled maintenance windows, after-hours patching, and defined response SLAs.

  • Interface directly with clients to understand system requirements, communicate project status, and provide hands on troubleshooting and support.

  • Partner with project managers, developers, and GIS analysts to align infrastructure design with application requirements, project timelines, and budget.

  • Support business development by engaging in sales discovery activities and estimating the level of effort for implementation and recurring costs for planned infrastructure.

Requirements

  • 3-6 years of experience installing, administering, and upgrading ArcGIS Enterprise.

  • Working knowledge of ArcGIS Enterprise architecture, including federation, server roles, and licensing models.

  • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex problems alongside DevOps engineers, developers, GIS analysts, and QA, and to communicate findings to business stakeholders.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Bachelor’s in computer science, GIS, geography, data science, or related field.

  • Must be legally eligible to work in the United States without restrictions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience deploying cloud services in AWS and/or Azure services to support ArcGIS Enterprise, such as virtual machines, load balancers, database services, and network infrastructure.

  • Experience administering relational databases.

  • Certifications from Esri, AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

  • Located in the Mountain or Pacific time zone.
