Arrouya - Senior Software Engineer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Arrouya - Senior Software Engineer based in Brazil. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will join a small engineering team working on software that supports complex reservation and operational workflows for public-sector organizations. You will contribute to both the modernization of a large production platform and the development of an entirely new product from the ground up. The role offers broad technical ownership across reservations, availability, scheduling, resource management, payments, refunds, and accounting. You will work across a modern TypeScript, Node.js, Express, React, and Next.js technology stack. Your architectural decisions will have a direct influence on the evolution, scalability, and reliability of the platform. You will tackle challenging business rules and data requirements while balancing the needs of established systems with greenfield development. This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced engineer who enjoys both untangling complex systems and building new solutions from 0 to 1.

System Development: Design and build robust systems supporting reservations, availability, scheduling, and resource management. Platform Modernization: Refactor and modernize a substantial production codebase while maintaining reliability and preparing the platform for future growth. Greenfield Development: Build new products and features from 0 to 1, contributing throughout the design and implementation lifecycle. Full-Stack Engineering: Develop across a TypeScript, Node.js/Express, React, and Next.js technology environment. Business Workflows: Design and implement workflows connecting reservations with payments, refunds, accounting, and related financial processes. Architecture: Make thoughtful architectural decisions that establish a strong technical foundation for the continued evolution and scalability of the platform. Complex Problem Solving: Navigate sophisticated availability, pricing, conflicts, cancellations, financial requirements, and business rules while maintaining correctness and reliability. Technical Ownership: Take a high degree of ownership over engineering challenges and contribute strong technical judgment to a small, highly autonomous team. Requirements Professional Experience: 5+ years of professional software engineering experience. TypeScript & JavaScript: Strong hands-on experience with TypeScript and JavaScript. Backend Development: Production experience with Node.js and Express. Frontend Development: Production experience with React and Next.js. Databases & APIs: Strong understanding of relational databases, APIs, and data modeling. Codebase Experience: Proven ability to work effectively across both established production codebases and greenfield projects. Engineering Judgment: Strong technical judgment and the ability to make sound decisions while operating with a high degree of ownership and autonomy. Complex Systems: Comfortable understanding and improving systems involving intricate business rules, data relationships, and operational workflows. Relevant Domain Experience: Experience with reservation, scheduling, payment, or financial systems is a strong advantage, particularly where accuracy and complex business rules are critical. Benefits Compensation: $60,000–$96,000 annually. Remote Work: Fully remote position available to professionals based in Brazil or Argentina.
