Assistant Demand Planner

The Assistant Demand Planner supports foundational planning responsibilities for assigned categories, building expertise in forecasting, inventory management, and product lifecycle execution under the guidance of senior planners. This role provides data analysis and execution support , while developing the skills to independently manage increasingly complex categories.   In This Role Support the development and maintenance of item- and category-level forecasts using historical performance, seasonality, and trend analysis to identify gaps and recommend forecast improvements   Support a category portfolio with guidance and oversight from senior planners   Monitor and drive key performance indicator (KPI) success across forecast accuracy, inventory turns, aged inventory, excess inventory, and product availability; execute actions to improve results   Assist with maintaining the Open-to-Buy (OTB) plans for assigned categories and proactively identify and communicate inventory risks   Support the execution of promotional and markdown strategies   Support product lifecycle planning, including end-of-life (EOL) strategies and new product introduction (NPI) forecasting; execute markdowns and exit strategies as needed   Assist with purchase order requests, acknowledgements, and pipeline tracking while monitoring receipt flow and communicating ETA changes to Sales and cross-functional partners   Participate in cross-functional planning discussions and initiatives, representing planning priorities and insights for assigned categories   Maintain reporting accuracy and data integrity; identify and escalate risks, discrepancies, or system issues to senior planners as needed   Other duties as assigned, in accordance with training and qualifications   Uphold the Core Values and be a valuable member of the Four Hands Team    Be open and honest   Reach for excellence   Act with responsibility   Value the whole person   Enjoy the journey   Key KPIs BOP and EOP Inventory Sell-Thru Inventory Turn Open to Buy (OTB) and Historical Variance SKU Productivity The Ideal Person 0-2 years of retail planning, buying or equivalent analytical experience (furniture industry experience preferred)   Bachelor’s degree in Business, Data Analytics, Supply Chain Management, Merchandising required   Intermediate knowledge of Excel with aptitude to learn new systems quickly   Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills   Demonstrated ability to take initiative and ownership of assigned work projects   Strong communication skills, both written and verbal   Highly organized and detail oriented   Ability to influence cross-functionally   About Four Hands Headquartered in Austin, Texas, since 1996, Four Hands crafts furniture, art and décor — pieces that are all about creating space.
