The position is based at the St. George campus with an anticipated start date of 1 July 2027. Priority research areas include advanced digital technologies such as AI, quantum and cybersecurity, along with environment, climate resilience and the Arctic. The associated Emerging Leaders award is valued at CAD 100,000 per year for six years, with a possible six-year extension. The official posting says the upper end of the hiring salary range exceeds CAD 200,000 per year, with negotiations beyond the range possible for exceptionally qualified candidates.
Requirements & qualifications
Candidates must hold a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related field and demonstrate excellence in research and teaching. The Canada Impact+ Emerging Leaders programme targets exceptional emerging scholars who meet its early-career eligibility rules, and the research must align with listed strategic priority areas.
