This is a strategic commercial leadership role focused on building and strengthening relationships with influential experts across rare neurological diseases. You will develop engagement strategies for national, regional, and emerging thought leaders across the Western United States. The role combines external relationship management with insight generation that can shape brand strategy, evidence generation, and launch planning. You will collaborate closely with Commercial, Marketing, Medical Affairs, and other cross-functional teams. The position also leads advisory boards, physician speaker programs, congress engagement, and launch-readiness initiatives. This is a remote opportunity with approximately 60–70% travel and occasional quarterly presence at a Boston office. The successful candidate will bring strong neurology or rare-disease expertise, strategic thinking, and exceptional relationship-building skills.
Develop and execute comprehensive engagement strategies for national, regional, and emerging thought leaders in rare neurological diseases. Build trusted, long-term relationships with neurologists, neuromuscular specialists, rehabilitation physicians, genetic specialists, multidisciplinary care teams, advocacy leaders, and investigators. Identify influential experts, centers of excellence, and emerging voices who can help shape the evolving treatment landscape. Maintain a strong understanding of thought leaders’ clinical interests, research activities, influence networks, and educational needs. Capture, synthesize, and communicate field insights that can inform brand strategy, messaging, evidence generation, and launch planning. Identify emerging trends in diagnosis, treatment patterns, referral pathways, and unmet needs within the rare-disease community. Translate customer insights into actionable recommendations for commercial leadership. Lead the planning and execution of commercial advisory boards, including advisor identification, recruitment, compliant objectives, discussion guides, and insight communication. Partner with Marketing and Medical Affairs to ensure advisory activities and expert engagements align with applicable requirements. Recruit, onboard, train, coach, and develop a high-performing physician speaker bureau, while evaluating speaker effectiveness and partnering with external vendors. Develop engagement strategies for major neurology congresses and coordinate thought leader meetings before, during, and after scientific meetings. Capture relevant competitive intelligence and customer insights and support executive leadership engagement with key experts. Support launch readiness by identifying educational gaps, assessing market dynamics, informing disease education initiatives, shaping peer-to-peer strategies, and supporting customer segmentation and influence mapping. Requirements Bachelor’s degree required; an advanced degree such as an MBA, PharmD, PhD, MSN, or MS is preferred. At least 7 years of experience within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or healthcare industry. At least 3–5 years of experience in one or more relevant areas, such as Thought Leader Liaison, Product Marketing, Specialty Sales, Medical Affairs leadership, or Commercial field leadership. Demonstrated experience in rare disease, specialty pharmaceuticals, and/or neurology. Proven ability to think strategically and develop executive-level relationship frameworks. Strong understanding of commercial compliance and promotional regulations. Excellent relationship-building, communication, presentation, and stakeholder-management skills. Strong project management, organization, prioritization, and execution capabilities. Ability to synthesize complex field insights and translate them into clear strategic recommendations. Ability to collaborate effectively across Commercial, Marketing, Medical Affairs, and other cross-functional teams. Willingness and ability to travel approximately 60–70% for congresses and stakeholder engagement. Must reside in the Western U.S. region covered by the role: Alaska, Hawaii, Washington, Oregon, California, Idaho, Nevada, Arizona, Utah, Montana, Wyoming, North Dakota, or South Dakota. Ability to work remotely while attending the Boston office approximately 1–2 times per quarter for workshops and key strategy meetings. Benefits Base salary range of $190,000–$225,000 , with actual compensation determined by factors including qualifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and organizational needs. Eligibility for short-term and long-term incentive programs. Medical, dental, and vision coverage. Flexible time-off structure, including unlimited sick time and flex time without accrued time-off balances. 401(k) retirement plan. Life and disability insurance. Employee recognition programs.
