Associate Director, Medical Affairs Congress Strategy

Our partner is looking for a Associate Director, Medical Affairs Congress Strategy based in United States. This role will lead the development and execution of integrated congress strategies across multiple cardiovascular programs. You will maximize the scientific, educational, and strategic value of major medical congresses through thoughtful planning, evidence dissemination, stakeholder engagement, and insight generation. The position spans the full congress lifecycle, from opportunity identification and scientific content planning through execution, insight capture, and post-congress analysis. You will work closely with Medical Affairs, Scientific Communications, Clinical Development, Field Medical, Patient Advocacy, Investor Relations, and Corporate Communications teams. The role also offers an opportunity to build scalable congress processes and strengthen omnichannel approaches as programs progress toward commercialization. This is a highly visible position suited to an experienced Medical Affairs professional with strong strategic, project leadership, and stakeholder management capabilities.

Develop and execute annual and multi-year congress strategies across a portfolio of cardiovascular programs. Identify and prioritize congress opportunities based on Medical Affairs objectives, evidence-generation milestones, scientific communication priorities, and launch readiness. Define congress objectives, success measures, stakeholder engagement plans, and insight-generation priorities. Lead planning across the full congress lifecycle, including planning workshops, scientific content, medical booth strategy, KOL engagement, MSL preparation, and leadership briefings. Coordinate activities during congresses, including scientific session coverage, medical and scientific exchange, competitive intelligence, insight capture, executive briefings, and KOL and investigator engagements. Lead post-congress activities, including strategic summaries, insight synthesis, leadership presentations, performance assessments, and recommendations for future congress participation. Establish and manage integrated planning processes, timelines, governance structures, and cross-functional execution plans. Develop congress dashboards, milestone tracking tools, and post-congress performance metrics to monitor effectiveness and continuously improve execution. Create scalable operating procedures and best practices that support increasing congress complexity as programs advance toward commercialization. Support medical symposia strategy, including faculty identification and management, content strategy, scientific messaging, and educational objectives. Partner with Scientific Communications and other stakeholders to extend congress impact through podcasts, digital content, educational assets, and disease-state initiatives. Build structured frameworks for congress insight generation and synthesis across KOL engagements, scientific sessions, investigator discussions, and other sources. Translate congress intelligence into actionable recommendations that inform evidence generation, clinical development, medical strategy, publication planning, and launch readiness. Requirements: Demonstrated experience supporting major medical congresses within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or a related life sciences environment. Strong understanding of scientific communications, evidence dissemination, and medical education. Proven project leadership experience in complex, cross-functional environments. Outstanding communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills. 7+ years of pharmaceutical or biotech Medical Affairs experience preferred. Advanced life sciences degree such as a PhD or PharmD preferred. Experience in cardiovascular therapeutic areas is highly desirable. Global congress planning and execution experience is a strong advantage. Experience supporting pre-launch or launch-stage products is preferred. Familiarity with publication planning and medical education strategy. Strong strategic thinking and the ability to connect congress activities with broader Medical Affairs and organizational objectives. Ability to synthesize complex scientific and stakeholder insights into clear recommendations for senior leadership. Comfortable managing multiple priorities, timelines, stakeholders, and deliverables in a fast-paced environment. Benefits: $187,000–$244,000 USD annual compensation.
