Full job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Associate Director of Treasury based in United States. The Associate Director of Treasury will lead a global treasury function spanning cash management, liquidity planning, banking operations, working capital, and financial controls. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this role will provide critical visibility into cash positions and forecasts while supporting strategic funding and investment decisions. You will partner closely with FP&A, Controllership, Investments, Payroll, Accounts Payable, and external financial institutions. The role also offers an opportunity to strengthen treasury governance, standardize processes, and improve automation across banking and ERP systems. You will lead and develop a high-performing treasury function while driving scalable practices across multiple entities. This is a remote-first leadership opportunity within a purpose-driven and globally connected environment.

Lead global treasury operations across multiple entities, including daily cash positioning, liquidity management, cash transfers, pooling structures, and capital optimization. Develop and maintain the global working capital model, including cash balance reporting, weekly working capital analysis, cash flow visibility, and cash optimization. Own short- and long-term cash forecasting in partnership with FP&A, Controllership, Investments, and Finance leadership. Provide cash and liquidity insights to support operating decisions, investment planning, funding requirements, and broader financial strategy. Oversee global banking relationships, account setup and maintenance, banking documentation, authorized signers, user access, and bank portal administration. Manage global banking structures and ensure effective administration of accounts across entities and geographies. Lead, mentor, and develop the treasury team by establishing clear responsibilities, strengthening capabilities, and promoting continuous improvement. Establish and maintain treasury controls covering segregation of duties, payment approvals, dual controls, fraud prevention, signatory management, and access governance. Conduct recurring bank access reviews, risk assessments, issue tracking, and remediation of identified control gaps. Oversee cash disbursement governance across ACH, wire transfers, international payments, internal transfers, and payment approval processes. Coordinate treasury activities with Accounts Payable, Payroll, Controllership, and Investment functions. Monitor and optimize cash inflows and outflows, including operating disbursements and payroll funding requirements. Drive automation and integration between banking platforms, treasury systems, and ERP environments. Improve bank feeds, host-to-host connections, bank-to-bank integrations, automated reporting, and other treasury technology capabilities. Standardize treasury processes, policies, documentation, and operating practices across the organization. Maintain strong relationships with financial institutions and internal stakeholders to support effective cash and banking operations. Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, risk management, and cash visibility through process transformation and technology. Support a collaborative, accountable, and high-performing treasury culture aligned with organizational values and long-term objectives. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience. 5–8 years of experience in treasury, cash management, corporate finance, or a closely related function. Demonstrated experience managing global treasury operations across multiple entities or geographic markets. Experience leading or managing a team, with the ability to coach, develop, and empower team members. Strong experience partnering with senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative, and dynamic environment. Strong autonomy and ownership, combined with a collaborative, positive, and team-oriented approach. Excellent analytical, financial, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Strong understanding of cash management, liquidity planning, banking operations, working capital, and treasury controls. Experience with banking systems, ERP environments, treasury processes, and financial technology integrations. Sage Intacct and/or other cloud-based ERP experience is preferred. Experience with Vena budgeting software is preferred. Experience leading systems integration, automation, or finance transformation initiatives is desirable. Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) certification is preferred. Experience working within a nonprofit, social enterprise, or other mission-driven organization is desirable. Ability to act as a culture champion and model organizational values and inclusive ways of working. Strong growth mindset and commitment to continuous learning and professional development. Ability to work remotely while maintaining effective communication and collaboration across distributed teams. Willingness to travel to the New York or Toronto office approximately 2–3 times per year, as required. Benefits: Compensation of CAD $102,000–$135,000. Remote-first work environment with flexible scheduling. Generous time-off policies designed to support work-life balance. Wellness programs and resources supporting employee well-being. Comprehensive benefits and rewards programs. Professional development opportunities and comprehensive training programs. Tuition reimbursement opportunities to support continued learning. Opportunities for career advancement and ongoing professional growth. Purpose-driven work focused on expanding educational and professional opportunities for people globally. Inclusive and collaborative workplace with employees from diverse cultural and professional backgrounds. Employee-led resource groups, town halls, team activities, and community initiatives. Volunteer opportunities and programs supporting equity, diversity, and inclusion. Flexible remote work arrangements, with potential periodic travel to designated offices. An environment focused on innovation, continuous learning, and meaningful social impact.
