Full job description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Associate Director, Product (Data) based in United States. This is a leadership opportunity to own and grow a data product designed to make complex healthcare data more accessible and actionable. You will lead the product strategy, day-to-day operations, discovery, delivery, and roadmap for a self-service data warehousing and reporting solution. Working closely with engineering and cross-functional teams, you will translate customer needs into scalable product experiences and successful releases. You will also engage directly with clients, manage escalations, and guide stakeholders through product changes and launches. The role combines technical product management, strategic thinking, customer partnership, and people leadership. You’ll have significant autonomy to navigate ambiguity, identify opportunities, and shape the future of a data-driven healthcare product. This is a fully remote position with the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on healthcare organizations and the populations they serve.
Own the strategy, performance, and day-to-day operations of the data product, ensuring it delivers meaningful value to customers and supports broader business objectives. Lead product discovery and delivery for complex features, including customer discovery sessions, requirements gathering, PRD development, and coordination with engineering. Use AI and technical investigation techniques to explore the codebase, answer functionality questions, and accelerate product discovery and decision-making. Evaluate build-versus-buy opportunities and provide recommendations based on customer needs, technical considerations, and business priorities. Partner with engineering and cross-functional teams to plan releases, manage dependencies, coordinate launches, and ensure successful feature rollouts. Communicate product updates across the organization and provide clear visibility into priorities, progress, risks, and upcoming changes. Work directly with clients to understand needs, resolve escalations, and ensure product decisions remain grounded in customer outcomes. Develop monthly roadmaps, pod-level quarterly roadmaps, and product-level roadmap recommendations aligned with strategic priorities. Identify potential dependencies across products and proactively bring them to the broader product organization for discussion and resolution. Lead and develop direct reports by setting clear expectations, providing regular feedback, and supporting career growth and development. Facilitate Scrum processes and contribute to a disciplined, collaborative software development lifecycle. Requirements 6–8 years of overall Product Management experience, including at least 1 year of experience managing and developing a team. Strong technical background with familiarity in data modeling, analytics tools, data products, and modern software development practices. Proficiency in SQL and JIRA, with a solid understanding of the software product development lifecycle and Agile/Scrum methodologies. Experience working directly with clients, including the ability to manage escalations, communicate complex topics clearly, and build strong relationships. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions in ambiguous or evolving environments. Demonstrated business acumen and the ability to balance customer needs, product priorities, technical considerations, and broader business outcomes. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence engineering, product, leadership, and other cross-functional stakeholders. Strong attention to detail, proactive ownership, curiosity, and a willingness to continuously learn new technologies and skills. Experience working with healthcare datasets, such as electronic health record or claims data. Experience developing or managing data products is highly desirable. Prior startup experience is preferred. A bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant professional experience is desirable. This is a fully remote role for candidates based in the United States and is not eligible for sponsorship. Benefits Base salary range of $165,000–$175,000 , with final compensation determined by experience, skills, and organizational needs. Fully remote work within the United States. Opportunity to lead a high-impact data product within the healthcare technology space. Significant ownership and autonomy over product strategy, roadmap development, discovery, and delivery. People leadership responsibilities with opportunities to support team growth and career development. Collaborative, cross-functional environment spanning product, engineering, clients, and business stakeholders. Opportunity to use AI and emerging technologies to improve product discovery and execution. Meaningful opportunity to improve access to healthcare data and support better operational outcomes for organizations serving complex and vulnerable populations.
