The second 2026 application cycle is open from 1 July through 1 October 2026. AIF offers Research and Innovation tracks for up to two years of overseas postdoctoral training at approved universities, research institutions or eligible deep-tech/venture environments. Coverage includes overseas living and sustenance allowances, annual return airfare, settling-in, computer and conference allowances, and personal insurance. Fellows return to Singapore for a three-year service commitment.
Eligibility requirements
Applicants generally must be Singapore citizens or permanent residents; exceptional non-SPR foreigners may be considered but must obtain Singapore citizenship before the fellowship starts. Applicants must have completed a PhD within the last four years, have no existing institutional bond, and meet track-specific requirements. Final-stage PhD candidates may apply subject to conferment.
