Overview
Eligible Mongolian passport holders who previously entered Australia on a subclass 462 visa and completed the required specified work can apply for a second Work and Holiday visa for up to another 12 months.
Complete opportunity details
The second subclass 462 visa permits short-term work, study for up to four months and multiple entry during the visa period. It is not subject to the annual first-visa country cap. Applicants can apply from inside or outside Australia and must use ImmiAccount. The standard published application charge is AUD 1,000, with any additional health, police or biometric costs dependent on circumstances.
Eligibility requirements
Applicants must hold a passport from an eligible country including Mongolia, be aged 18–30 inclusive when applying, have previously entered Australia on a subclass 462 visa, have complied with the conditions of the first visa, complete at least three months of specified subclass 462 work, not be accompanied by dependent children, meet health and character requirements, and satisfy the other current Home Affairs rules. Applicants outside Australia are generally expected to show sufficient funds, usually about AUD 5,000 plus onward-fare capacity.
Tips for this visa & mobility opportunity
Practical Job and Scholarship guidance. These tips do not replace official rules or create new eligibility requirements.
- Verify the official immigration, program or host-organization requirements before paying fees or sending documents.
- Check passport validity, financial evidence, insurance, appointment and processing-time requirements early.
- Do not rely on third-party claims of guaranteed visas; final decisions are made by the responsible authority.
Verification notes
Verified on the current Department of Home Affairs second subclass 462 visa page, which explicitly includes Mongolia in the eligible-passport list. The separate first-visa cap page currently marks Mongolia’s first subclass 462 cap as paused, but Home Affairs states there are no caps for second or third Work and Holiday visas; this record is therefore specifically for the second visa.
