Overview
Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile's Avanza UC 2026 internal research call funds frontier, high-risk and potentially high-impact projects across arts, humanities, sciences and technology, with up to CLP 36,000,000 per project.
Complete grant details
Projects should address challenges relevant to Chile with potential global impact and may be fundamental or applied. A UC team can include up to four UC academics, with external national or international co-investigators also permitted. Eligible costs include specified researcher incentives, support personnel, national/international mobility for UC researchers, operating costs, general costs and limited capital equipment. Projects are scheduled to begin 12 April 2027 and end 16 October 2028, subject to required ethics/safety approval where applicable.
Eligibility requirements
UC investigators serving as responsible, principal or associate investigators generally need at least a 33-hour weekly UC contract and appointment in the ordinary or special academic staff. An exceptional route exists for qualifying academics with at least 22 hours with dean justification. The proposal must address a Chile-relevant problem, have dean support, comply with outstanding-report requirements and may not duplicate a currently funded research idea.
Tips for this grant
Practical Job and Scholarship guidance. These tips do not replace official rules or create new eligibility requirements.
- Check eligibility, funding coverage, study/project level and every required document before investing time in the application.
- Prepare transcripts, references, language tests, proposal/motivation statement and proof documents early.
- Separate the scholarship deadline from any university/program admission deadline; they may be different.
- Treat “fully funded” as a source fact only when the official provider explicitly confirms the covered costs.
Verification notes
Verified on the official UC Dirección de Investigación call on 6 September 2026 UTC. The source states 30 September 2026 at 23:59 but does not explicitly state a timezone, so the record preserves the date and source-local clock in notes without fabricating a UTC deadline.
Job and Scholarship is the discovery and verification layer. Confirm eligibility, dates, salary/funding and application instructions on the original source before submitting anything.
