Full job description

✨ WHAT AWAITS YOU HERE: As a Backend Rust Developer, you will help build and evolve backend services connected to Braiins Pool, Hashpower, and our hashpower spot market. The role is not only about writing Rust code. We are looking for an engineer who can understand how backend changes, configuration, pricing logic, data flows, and operational behavior can influence the market as a whole. You will work primarily with Rust/Tokio microservices using gRPC/Protocol Buffers, Kafka, PostgreSQL/SQLx, Consul, Vault, Docker, Kubernetes, and GitLab CI/CD. Because the product touches market behavior, availability, user incentives, and data-driven decisions, strong seniority, analytical thinking, and ideally experience with mathematical statistics are more important than narrow specialization in one programming language. Depending on your strengths, you may also touch TypeScript/React frontend code, Python-based tools or legacy services, internal automation, deployment workflows, and AI-assisted development processes. 🀝 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design, build, maintain, and improve backend services for Braiins Pool, Hashpower, and related market-oriented products.
  • Reason about how service behavior, configuration changes, pricing or allocation logic, data quality, latency, and reliability can affect users and market dynamics.
  • Work with Rust/Tokio microservices, gRPC/Protocol Buffers, Kafka, PostgreSQL/SQLx, Consul, Vault, Docker, Kubernetes, and GitLab CI/CD.
  • Contribute to API design, service communication, data flows, database changes, testing, observability, and production readiness.
  • Collaborate with product, analytics, frontend, QA, support, SRE, and platform teams to deliver reliable product changes with clearly understood impact.
  • Use data, logs, metrics, experiments, and statistical reasoning to validate assumptions and assess the effect of changes.
  • Improve internal Rust libraries, service patterns, development workflows, and shared engineering practices.
  • Help maintain or modernize Python-based tools and legacy services where needed.
  • Participate in code reviews, technical decisions, refactoring, documentation, and continuous improvement of backend quality.
  • Use AI tools responsibly to accelerate research, implementation, testing, documentation, automation, and delivery while keeping strong human ownership, review, security, and production quality. πŸ”Ž WE ARE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WITH:
  • Mid+/Senior experience in backend development, distributed systems, service-oriented architecture, data-intensive products, or similar engineering work.
  • Strong engineering judgment and ability to think beyond code: market impact, user incentives, operational risk, configuration effects, and long-term maintainability.
  • Experience with production services, APIs, databases, asynchronous or event-driven systems, and message queues.
  • Ability to reason with data and metrics; ideally practical experience with mathematical statistics, probability, experiments, forecasting, simulations, or market/data analysis.
  • Strong backend/systems experience with clear motivation to work primarily in Rust.
  • Good understanding of testing, code review, observability, performance, reliability, and maintainable architecture.
  • Ability to work across the full delivery lifecycle: requirements, design, implementation, CI/CD, deployment, monitoring, support, and post-release evaluation.
  • Ownership mindset, good communication, and willingness to collaborate across product, analytics, frontend, QA, SRE, and support.
  • Willingness to understand Bitcoin mining, pool operations, hashpower products, and our internal service ecosystem. πŸ’ͺ NICE TO HAVE:
  • Experience with Rust/Tokio, SQLx, gRPC/Protocol Buffers, Kafka, PostgreSQL, Kubernetes, Consul, Vault, or GitLab CI/CD.
  • Experience with market systems, pricing, auctions, financial technology, trading, marketplaces, risk models, or other products where software changes influence economic behavior.
  • Experience with statistical analysis, data modeling, experiment evaluation, simulations, or quantitative decision support.
  • Experience with Python tools, service migrations, legacy-service modernization, or data-processing scripts.
  • Experience with TypeScript/React, protobuf/ConnectRPC APIs, dashboards, or data-heavy user interfaces.
  • Experience in Bitcoin, mining, hashpower markets, fintech, infrastructure, or other high-throughput technical domains. πŸ– WHAT WE OFFER TO YOU:
  • Full-time position with flexible working hours.
  • Both possibilities to work as an Employee or Freelance.
  • Indefinite agreement.
  • For employees 5 weeks of vacation and 3 sick days.
  • Company events, and occasional brunches in the office.
  • Relaxing room, a shower, and a shared parking spot.
  • Modern offices in the center of Prague, Czech Republic β€” the heart of Europe. πŸ”₯ WE WILL LOVE YOU EVEN MORE IF…
  • You are interested in cryptocurrencies or have active experience with them.
  • You are interested in the responsible and effective application of AI tools.
