Assistant Manager: Security Infrastructure Job At Bancabc Zimbabwe

BancABC Zimbabwe is looking for a suitably qualified professional to join its team as Assistant Manager: Security Infrastructure within the Risk Business Unit.

Job Title: Assistant Manager: Security Infrastructure Job Location: Zimbabwe Closing Date: 25 September 2026 at 16:30hrs

The role focuses on enhancing the Bank’s security posture, operational resilience, regulatory compliance, and succession planning through effective management and governance of critical security infrastructure.

Security Infrastructure Oversight

• Manage and monitor electronic security systems, including CCTV, alarms, access control, biometric solutions, mantraps and other security technologies.
• Monitor system performance, uptime, faults and recurring issues, ensuring timely escalation and resolution.
• Maintain oversight of security infrastructure across operational sites and restricted access areas.

Cctv, Surveillance And Control Room Operations

• Support the operation and administration of CCTV and surveillance systems.

• Facilitate the review and retrieval of surveillance footage for investigations, incident response and security assessments.

• Maintain controls over the access, retrieval, sharing, retention and disposal of surveillance footage.

• Identify surveillance gaps, infrastructure vulnerabilities and system deficiencies and recommend corrective actions.

Access Control And Physical Security Systems

• Administer and monitor biometric authentication, card access systems, visitor management processes and mantrap security controls.

• Analyse access logs and reports to identify irregular activities, unauthorised access attempts and potential security breaches.

• Ensure access control records, biometric information and visitor management data comply with privacy and data protection requirements.

• Provide security infrastructure recommendations for new facilities, refurbishments, relocations and technology implementation projects.

Cyber Physical Security And Operational Resilience

• Collaborate with Information Security, Technology and Risk teams to ensure security infrastructure systems are securely configured, appropriately patched, monitored and protected against cyber threats.
• Support business continuity, disaster recovery testing and resilience assessments relating to critical security infrastructure.

Security Systems Maintenance And Asset Management

• Maintain an accurate inventory of security infrastructure assets.
• Monitor maintenance schedules, warranties, service history, system deficiencies and remediation activities.
• Coordinate with service providers and internal stakeholders on maintenance, testing, repairs and optimisation of security systems.

Vendor And Service Level Management

• Monitor vendor performance against agreed service level agreements, quality standards and turnaround times.
• Assist in evaluating technical specifications, procurement requirements and vendor proposals.
• Escalate vendor performance concerns and track corrective actions.

Incident Management And Investigations Support

• Support the management and resolution of security incidents, alarm activations, suspicious activities and infrastructure failures.

• Assist with evidence collection and preservation, footage retrieval, chain-of-custody procedures and incident reporting.

• Contribute to investigations involving theft, fraud, vandalism, unauthorised access, attempted intrusions and other physical security incidents.

Risk, Compliance And Control Assurance

• Identify, assess and report security risks, control weaknesses and emerging vulnerabilities.

• Maintain security risk registers and monitor agreed mitigation measures.

• Support internal, regulatory and external audits relating to physical and electronic security controls.

• Ensure security systems and surveillance activities comply with applicable data protection, privacy and information governance requirements.

• Conduct periodic security infrastructure risk and control assessments and track corrective actions to closure.

Reporting And Management Information

• Prepare reports on security infrastructure performance, incidents, system availability, maintenance activities, vendor performance and corrective actions.
• Analyse security trends and control weaknesses and provide actionable recommendations.
• Support reporting to management and governance committees on security risks, compliance matters and remediation progress.

Skills And Competencies

• CCTV and surveillance management

• Access control systems

• Incident response and risk management

• Security analytics, trend analysis and management reporting

• Privacy and data protection awareness

• Evidence preservation and information handling

• Data interpretation and report writing

• Corrective-action tracking

• Effective interaction with senior management

• Teamwork

• Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills

Job Related Knowledge

Knowledge of the following is required:

• Vendor management

• Security systems maintenance

• Security governance and compliance

• Data protection and privacy requirements

• Information classification and handling standards

• Chain of custody and evidence management

• Banking regulatory requirements relating to physical security, operational resilience, data protection and evidence preservation

• Recognised information security and business continuity standards

Qualifications And Work Experience

The successful candidate should have:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Security Management, Risk Management or a related field.

• Certifications in electronic security systems, CCTV/VMS platforms, access control, investigations, cybersecurity, systems administration or related security disciplines.

• Hands-on training or certification in enterprise security technologies such as Milestone, Cathexis, Dahua, Hikvision, Axis, GRG or similar security platforms.

• 3–5 years’ experience in electronic and physical security infrastructure within banking, financial services or other high-security environments.
