BVTB states that the apprenticeship period is normally three years, subject to possible credit for previous training or qualifications. Apprentices earn no less than 45%, 55% and 75% of a journeyman's pay in the first, second and third years respectively, and successful completers receive a Certificate of Apprenticeship.
Eligibility requirements
BVTB states that applicants to most programmes must be at least 16 years old. Its apprenticeship guidance is aimed at people of school-leaving age or older who want training in an occupation with an approved scheme of training.
