Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is the country's largest employer, delivering universal public healthcare to 5 million New Zealanders.We provide essential hospital, specialist, and community health services across 80+ locations, from large urban centres to rural towns and remote communities.Our goal is to improve health outcomes for all New Zealanders by delivering equitable, accessible and innovative care.About the RoleAs Building Information Modelling (BIM) Manager, you will lead and manage BIM and digital engineering processes across projects and the wider organisation within the Infrastructure and Investment Group (IIG). This national role is responsible for supporting consistent BIM standards, improving coordination and data quality, and helping project teams deliver high-quality digital outcomes throughout the project lifecycle. You will lead the implementation of BIM strategy, standards and workflows, including BIM execution plans, modelling standards, naming conventions and data management protocols. Working across multidisciplinary projects, you will guide model coordination and clash detection, monitor BIM deliverables and compliance, and facilitate coordination workshops and reviews. You will also support the administration and optimisation of BIM platforms and common data environments, evaluate emerging technologies and help strengthen interoperability between design and construction systems.About the Team/Service/LocationThe Infrastructure and Investment Group (IIG) is focused on delivering high-impact infrastructure investment that supports the transformation of New Zealand's health system.Providing support, oversight and assurance across projects and programmes, the group recognises that safe, fit-for-purpose health facilities, sites and equipment are essential to a well-functioning health system. This is a national role, working across project, regional and national teams and with a broad range of clinical, operational and technical stakeholders.About youYou have significant experience in BIM management or digital engineering leadership and your background includes delivering multidisciplinary building or infrastructure projects and applying BIM standards, workflows and coordination processes in complex environments. You bring strong technical knowledge and a practical approach to solving problems. You can work confidently with project teams and stakeholders, translate digital requirements into clear guidance and maintain a strong focus on model quality, information management and compliance. Collaborative and improvement focused, you are comfortable leading capability development, managing competing priorities and building trusted relationships across technical disciplines. You understand how design governance supports major capital programmes and can help teams adopt consistent, effective digital delivery practices. You will bring:A relevant tertiary qualification in BIM, CADD, Architecture, Engineering or a related design discipline. Significant experience in BIM management or digital engineering leadership. Strong working knowledge of BIM standards, workflows and coordination processes. Experience delivering multidisciplinary infrastructure or building projects. Advanced proficiency in BIM software, including Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, Civil 3D and BIM 360 or Autodesk Construction Cloud. A strong understanding of ISO 19650 and digital information management. Experience working within commercial delivery models, including Design and Construct, Construct Only and collaborative models.
