Full job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Business Development Director based in United States. This is a senior business development opportunity focused on expanding healthcare recruitment services across a multi-state territory. You will own the full new-business cycle, from prospecting and executive outreach through presentations, negotiations, and contract close. The role combines strategic account development with hands-on relationship building across hospitals, health systems, and healthcare decision-makers. You will work closely with recruiting teams to transition new clients and ensure their physician staffing needs are effectively supported. The position offers significant autonomy, regular executive-level engagement, and 35–50% regional travel. Success requires a strong consultative sales approach, excellent communication, resilience, and the ability to consistently deliver against ambitious production goals. It is well suited to an experienced healthcare or solution-sales professional who thrives in a high-performance, relationship-driven environment.

Develop and execute business development strategies aligned with territory goals and organizational objectives. Proactively research, identify, and qualify new business opportunities through phone, email, networking, and other prospecting channels. Conduct cold calls and outreach to prospective healthcare clients and decision-makers. Schedule and lead in-person meetings with hospital and healthcare executives, presenting physician recruitment services clearly and professionally. Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with current and prospective clients. Negotiate and close new business contracts while maintaining focus on individual and territory revenue objectives. Partner with recruiting teams to transition new clients and coordinate the handoff of physician searches to the appropriate recruitment professionals. Serve as a trusted point of contact for clients, including responding professionally and calmly to escalated issues. Gather and interpret client information and market data to recommend appropriate recruitment strategies and solutions. Represent services at industry conferences, trade shows, and other relevant events. Provide client feedback and recommendations to internal teams to support service improvements. Mentor team members by sharing effective prospecting, presentation, relationship-management, and closing practices. Track individual performance, forecast results accurately, and consistently work toward monthly and annual search production goals. Travel approximately 35–50% within an assigned multi-state territory and manage business activities effectively while traveling. Requirements 10+ years of outside solution sales experience or 5+ years of healthcare staffing sales experience. Bachelor's degree preferred. Demonstrated success generating new business and achieving sales objectives within an assigned territory. Proven ability to confidently present services and business solutions to C-suite executives, medical professionals, hospital leaders, and other senior stakeholders. Strong prospecting, cold-calling, consultative selling, presentation, negotiation, and closing skills. Excellent relationship-building, interpersonal, strategic communication, and client-service abilities. Ability to manage escalated client situations professionally, calmly, and with sound judgment. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to gather, interpret, and communicate relevant data to support client decisions. Ability to operate effectively in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment while managing multiple priorities. Excellent organization and time-management skills, with the ability to maintain productivity while traveling. Strong verbal and written communication skills and comfort communicating extensively by phone, email, and text. Proficiency with Microsoft Office or comparable productivity software; CRM experience is a plus. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with recruiting and other internal teams. Stable employment history with verifiable professional references. Valid driver's license with no major driving violations. Willingness and ability to travel approximately 35–50% within a multi-state territory and occasionally adjust working hours to accommodate business needs. Benefits Base salary of $90,000–$110,000 . Uncapped commission opportunity in addition to base compensation. Competitive health and wellness benefits. Paid time off and wellness program. 401(k) plan with company matching. President's Club recognition and incentive trips. Kickoff and mid-year team events. Volunteer opportunities and charitable matching programs. Awards and recognition opportunities. Supportive, collaborative, and performance-oriented work environment. Opportunities to develop professionally through mentoring, client engagement, and leadership responsibilities.
