ABOUT THE ROLE This is a graduate-level operations role at a fast-moving fintech bank, where you will own a core operational domain end-to-end and be expected to automate yourself out of the manual work you start with. You will sit at the intersection of operations, product, and engineering, turning first-hand process knowledge into the systems and agents that replace it. The measure of success here is a queue that runs without you. WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Run cases and own the queue in your operational domain day-to-day, logging every point where a process breaks or creates friction.
- Become the deepest internal expert on your domain's workflows and edge cases.
- Build and ship automation rules and sub-flows that replace the manual work you started by doing yourself.
- Drive and validate measurable improvements on every flow you rebuild.
- Handle edge cases and knife-edge scenarios that automation does not yet cover.
- Translate operational findings and failure modes into clear specs and requirements for Engineering and Product teams.
- Contribute directly to shipping the systems and agents that replace manual operations. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- 2 to 3 internships in high-growth startups, venture capital, or consulting, or equivalent initiative through side projects, student organizations, research, or entrepreneurial work.
- Hands-on experience automating real workflows with AI tools, used in practice rather than as experiments.
- Experience running manual operational workflows end-to-end and documenting failure modes and process breakdowns.
- Experience building process automation rules, sub-flows, or workflow logic to replace manual work.
- Comfort working in fast-moving environments with minimal process documentation.
- Ability to translate operational observations into technical specifications for engineering teams.
- Familiarity with no-code or low-code automation platforms (such as Zapier, Make, or n8n) is a plus.
- Exposure to banking, payments, or fintech operations is a plus.
- Based in New York City or willing to relocate.
- Systems-first mindset: your instinct is to automate and build, not to add headcount or manual steps. COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Salary range: $100,000 to $125,000 USD annually. Visa sponsorship is available. LOCATION On-site in New York City, NY, USA.
