This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Call Specialist - Carle Direct based in United States. This part-time role supports a healthcare transfer center by coordinating communication related to patient transfers, admissions, and care logistics. You will serve as an important point of contact for patients, providers, clinics, hospitals, and internal care teams. The position combines customer service, administrative coordination, patient registration, and timely information management. You will work closely with nurses, bed placement teams, administrators, providers, and case management staff. The role requires accuracy, professionalism, responsiveness, and the ability to manage multiple requests in a healthcare environment. After completing 8–12 weeks of onsite training in Champaign, the position transitions to a work-from-home arrangement. The schedule includes evening work and alternating weekend and Monday shifts.

Answer incoming calls in a pleasant, professional, and customer-focused manner while identifying needs and determining the appropriate support. Register patient admissions accurately using Epic. Collect and enter accurate customer and patient information into transfer software for nursing staff. Coordinate outbound transfer follow-up and related communications. Coordinate and follow up on outpatient appointment scheduling. Complete department logs, audits, and other required administrative documentation. Assist with patient transportation coordination. Contact patients with bed assignments and directions for planned admissions. Communicate with House Administrators, Bed Placement, and on-call administration regarding bed availability. Order department supplies through Lawson and Warehouse Direct. Maintain daily assignments and communication boards with up-to-date information. Retrieve medical records as needed. Communicate updates with the Emergency Department, providers, nursing staff, Case Management, and Bed Placement teams. Coordinate the transmission of medical images from referring facilities into Epic. Requirements Strong customer service and telephone communication skills. Professional, pleasant, and clear communication style when interacting with patients, providers, healthcare facilities, and internal teams. Ability to accurately collect, enter, and manage patient and customer information. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail when handling multiple administrative and communication tasks. Ability to coordinate follow-ups and communicate time-sensitive information effectively. Comfortable working collaboratively with nurses, administrators, providers, case management, and other healthcare teams. Ability to maintain accurate records, logs, audits, assignments, and communication updates. Willingness and ability to complete 8–12 weeks of onsite training in Champaign before transitioning to remote work. Ability to work the required part-time schedule, including every other Saturday from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM, every other Monday from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM, and two additional evenings per week from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM. Benefits Part-time position with a work-from-home arrangement after successful completion of onsite training. Onsite training provided in Champaign over approximately 8–12 weeks. Hourly compensation ranging from $16.45 to $26.65 per hour . Actual compensation may vary based on experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked, and compensation model.
