The Nordic host must be in Denmark, Finland, Norway or Sweden, and the Nordic principal investigator must hold a PhD and be employed by the host institution throughout the project.

Tips for this grant

Practical Job and Scholarship guidance. These tips do not replace official rules or create new eligibility requirements.

  1. Check eligibility, funding coverage, study/project level and every required document before investing time in the application.
  2. Prepare transcripts, references, language tests, proposal/motivation statement and proof documents early.
  3. Separate the scholarship deadline from any university/program admission deadline; they may be different.
  4. Treat “fully funded” as a source fact only when the official provider explicitly confirms the covered costs.

Verification notes

Verified against Research Council of Finland and NordForsk official call pages. NordForsk states the deadline as 24 September 2026 before 8:00 p.m. ET; during that date Eastern Time is UTC−4, normalized here to 25 September 00:00 UTC. Nordic partners do not submit separately to NordForsk at proposal stage.
