Overview
The Canadian Coast Guard's Summer 2027 Inshore Rescue Boat student program recruits paid Crew Members and Coxswains for search-and-rescue work at stations across Canada.
Complete internship details
The summer contract runs approximately from late April to early September 2027. Crews normally work 14 consecutive days followed by 14 days of rest. The program includes paid training and on-water search-and-rescue experience.
Eligibility requirements
Applicants must be registered as full-time students at accredited post-secondary institutions, meet the minimum working-age requirement for the work location, and return to full-time studies in Fall 2027. Preference is given to Canadian citizens and permanent residents over non-Canadians who are eligible to work in Canada.
