Call 27 accepts applications from 1 June through 30 November 2026 for fellowships expected to start from September 2027 to May 2028. Postdoctoral fellowships last 6–24 months; experienced-researcher fellowships last 6–18 months. Applicants submit matching application materials to both the Humboldt Foundation and CAPES, while the German host provides the required host statement and facilities confirmation.
Eligibility requirements
Applicants must be Brazilian nationals or permanent residents in Brazil and resident in Brazil at application. Postdoctoral applicants normally completed the doctorate within the previous four years; experienced researchers within the previous twelve years and must show an established research profile. Applicants must satisfy the programme's Germany-residency restriction and secure a research host at a German institution. Appropriate English or German proficiency is required depending on field and project.
