The Short-Term Internship gives enrolled post-secondary students practical experience in CERN teams across technical, engineering and administrative fields. Placements are fully onsite in Geneva and last from 1 to 6 months. CERN states a monthly net allowance of CHF 1,593 and paid leave entitlement for contracts of 4 months or more. The ideal start date is discussed with selected candidates.
Eligibility requirements
Applicants must be nationals of a CERN Member State or Associate Member State, be pursuing a post-secondary Technical/Administrative diploma, Bachelor's or Master's degree, remain enrolled full-time during the internship, and have a good knowledge of English or French. CERN currently notes that applications cannot be considered from Pakistani, Lithuanian, Latvian, Cypriot and Croatian nationals because the relevant Associate Member State ceiling has been reached.
