CERN is accepting applications for its 2027-1 Technical Studentship in General and Civil Engineering, a fully onsite 4–12 month practical placement in Geneva with an ideal start date of 1 April 2027.
Complete internship details
Technical students learn from CERN engineers, technicians and scientists while contributing to design, analysis, surveying or construction-related work and other day-to-day engineering activities. Benefits include a CHF 3,486 monthly net allowance, 30 days paid leave per year plus two weeks annual closure, health-insurance coverage with the participant contribution deducted, and possible family and travel support.
Eligibility requirements
Applicants must be full-time students in general or civil engineering or a related field, be nationals of a CERN Member or Associate Member State, have completed at least 18 months or three semesters by selection, and have good English or French. PhD students and holders are not eligible. The current posting says Pakistani, Lithuanian, Latvian, Cypriot and Croatian nationals cannot presently be considered because the applicable Associate Membership ceiling has been reached.
