Technical students support CERN projects in applied physics, including areas such as instrumentation, sensors, data acquisition and radiation measurements, while learning from engineers, technicians and scientists. The ideal start date is 1 April 2027.

Eligibility requirements

Applicants must be nationals of a CERN Member or Associate Member State, have completed at least 18 months or three semesters in Applied Physics, Engineering Physics or a related field, have good English or French, and remain enrolled full-time during the studentship. PhD students and PhD holders are not eligible. CERN currently states that it cannot consider Pakistani, Lithuanian, Latvian, Cypriot or Croatian nationals because the applicable Associate Membership ceiling has been reached.
