Full job description
Healthcare is broken at the first step: patients can't find the right care, understand what it costs, or access the medications they need. Mochi Health is fixing this. We're building an AI-driven marketplace that makes healthcare discoverable—connecting patients to the right providers, transparent pharmacy pricing, and affordable medications. Over the past few years, we've grown rapidly by combining clinical expertise with technology that actually works for real people, not just hospital systems. Our platform does what legacy healthcare can't: it gives patients transparent pricing before they pay, personalized medication management that follows them across providers, and long-term access to their own medical records. We're proving that healthcare can be more affordable, more human, and far more intuitive than what exists today. Join a team that's rebuilding healthcare from the patient up. At Mochi Health, you'll work alongside people who value bold thinking, inclusive collaboration, and getting meaningful work into the world. If you want to do the most impactful work of your career, this is where to do it. Certified Nutrition Specialist (CNS) Capitated Model | Contract / Remote (US-Only) About The Role Mochi Medical, originally founded as an obesity management practice, is expanding its virtual care model beyond weight management. We're looking for Certified Nutrition Specialists who are committed to delivering high-quality, accessible, and affordable medical nutrition therapy alongside our Registered Dietitian Nutritionists. While obesity and metabolic health remain core areas of focus, our providers also support patients in areas such as dermatology, hormone replacement therapy, depression and anxiety, longevity, and hair loss. You will guide patients through their health journey with personalized, evidence-based nutrition care as part of a physician-led team. What You'll Do Conduct one-on-one virtual medical nutrition therapy and nutrition counseling visits, including personalized meal planning. Provide nutrition counseling that supports patients across multiple specialty areas and recognizes the link between nutrition and whole-body health. Build rapport, credibility, and engagement with patients through exceptional communication. Use motivational interviewing to guide patients toward sustainable lifestyle change. Document visits in our EMR using our nutrition note templates. Stay current with research on obesity medicine, GLP-1 therapy and nutrition, binge eating disorder, and emerging specialty areas. Practice only in states where you are legally permitted to provide MNT and only with patients located in those states. Adapt to a fast-paced startup environment and contribute to team-wide improvements. Who You Are Required Qualifications Active Certified Nutrition Specialist (CNS) credential in good standing with the Board for Certification of Nutrition Specialists (BCNS). At least 1 year of experience providing individualized nutrition counseling or MNT to patients with obesity, diabetes, or other cardiometabolic conditions. Legally permitted to provide medical nutrition therapy in at least one state where Mochi sees patients. A state nutritionist license or certification is required for insurance-covered visits (see "A note on states" below) and is strongly preferred. Individual professional liability (malpractice) insurance, or willingness to obtain it before your start date. Proficient in online scheduling tools, EMR systems, and video-visit coordination. Skilled in motivational interviewing and patient education. Comfortable working in a dynamic, evolving startup environment. Preferred Qualifications Current state license or certification as a nutritionist in one or more of: Florida, New York, Washington, North Carolina, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Minnesota, Massachusetts, Kentucky, Connecticut, New Mexico, Montana, Delaware, North Dakota, District of Columbia, or Alaska. CNS candidates practicing in other states are also encouraged to apply. Experience with GLP-1 or other anti-obesity medications and the nutrition considerations that accompany them. Experience or interest in nutrition as it relates to dermatology, hormone replacement therapy, mental health, longevity, or hair loss. Bilingual (English/Spanish) (a plus).
