Certified Peer Recovery Specialist Location: Newport News, VA Schedule: Monday–Friday, 10:00 AM–6:00 PM Pay: Up to $22.00 per hour Make a Difference in Recovery Pyramid Healthcare is seeking a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist to join our team in Newport News, VA. This role provides an opportunity to use your lived experience to support and empower individuals throughout their recovery journey. The Certified Peer Recovery Specialist works as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team, providing peer support, assisting with client needs, and helping individuals navigate recovery and community resources. Responsibilities Participate in treatment team meetings and provide insight based on lived experience. Maintain regular communication with referral sources and provide updates on client progress. Complete concurrent reviews and required medical record documentation in a timely manner. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client interactions and services provided. Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) initiatives and peer record reviews. Build and maintain professional relationships with clients, staff, referral sources, and community partners. Provide transportation to help clients access essential community resources when needed. Participate in emergency services duties on a rotating basis, including crisis assessments and hospital diversions. Qualifications & Requirements High school diploma or GED required. Registered Peer Recovery Specialist certification through the Virginia Board of Counseling at the Department of Health Professions required. Ability to maintain professional boundaries and work effectively with individuals receiving behavioral health and substance use treatment services. Preferred Skills & Competencies Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent time management and organizational abilities. Ability to problem-solve and address challenges independently and as part of a team. Ability to remain calm and effective during crisis situations.
