Applications for the CFWH General Research Grant 2026-2027 are now open. The CFWH General Research Grants are awarded to support innovative medical research that promotes and advances women’s health treatment, research and education including the reproductive health issues that face women both in Canada and around the world throughout the lifespan.
The Canadian Foundation for Women’s Health supports research, education, advocacy and professional development that advance the health of women in Canada and around the world.

Grants
The CFWH General Research Grant has a value of up to $20,000.
Eligibility
Applicants must be affiliated with a Canadian university or health care institution able to provide ethics review in compliance with Canadian standards.
Priority will be given to a member in good standing of the Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Canada.
Only research projects directly related to the field of women’s health and education are considered for funding.
Research proposals submitted may be stand alone or, if part of a larger project with funding from other sources, must have clear deliverables that are achievable in a time frame of two years or less.
The Award winner(s) must comply to provide quarterly progress reports to the CFWH.
Application
Documents required include:
A cover letter to the CFWH
A curriculum vitae for the principal investigator
An itemized budget including the amount being requested for the project, on a separate page
A letter of support from the institution
Research proposal
Return the completed form, along with required documents, to the CFWH National Office no later than December 15, 2026 to research@cfwh.org
