We are seeking a highly accomplished, commercially astute, and hands-on Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead the finance function of a dynamic Single Family Office based in Dubai. The CFO will act as a strategic partner to the Principal and senior leadership, overseeing financial stewardship, investment governance, capital allocation, tax structuring, treasury, and portfolio performance across a diversified global investment portfolio.
This is a high-impact leadership role requiring an individual who combines exceptional technical accounting expertise with strong commercial acumen and an investor mindset. The successful candidate will treat the Family Office as an institutional investment platform, ensuring disciplined capital allocation while maximizing cash generation and long-term value creation.
The ideal candidate is entrepreneurial, detail-oriented, execution-focused, and willing to work hands-on across strategic and operational finance matters.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Leadership & Governance
- Lead and oversee all financial operations of the Single-Family Office and its investment entities.
- Establish and maintain best-in-class financial controls, governance, compliance, and reporting standards.
- Ensure accurate, timely, and transparent financial reporting across all entities.
- Develop robust financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, and performance management processes.
- Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, banks, and regulatory authorities.
Accounting & Financial Control
- Maintain world-class accounting standards across multiple jurisdictions and investment vehicles.
- Ensure consolidated financial reporting for diverse asset classes and business interests.
- Implement strong internal controls and risk management frameworks.
- Continuously improve finance systems, reporting capabilities, and operational efficiency.
Tax & Corporate Structuring
- Design and implement efficient corporate, legal, and tax structures for existing and future investments.
- Work closely with international tax advisors on cross-border investments and regulatory compliance.
- Evaluate tax implications of acquisitions, disposals, restructurings, and investment vehicles.
- Ensure optimal holding structures across jurisdictions while maintaining full regulatory compliance.
Investment Portfolio Management
- Oversee the financial management of the Family Office's diversified investment portfolio across operating businesses, private equity, venture investments, real estate, financial assets, and strategic investments.
- Monitor investment performance, liquidity, and portfolio returns.
- Develop comprehensive financial analyses and investment dashboards for decision-making.
- Work closely with investment teams and external advisors on portfolio optimization.
Capital Allocation
- Drive disciplined capital allocation decisions using institutional investment principles.
- Evaluate competing investment opportunities and recommend optimal deployment of capital.
- Prepare detailed investment memorandums, financial models, valuation analyses, and recommendation papers for the Principal.
- Assess risk-adjusted returns and ensure efficient utilization of scarce capital.
Treasury & Cash Management
- Lead treasury strategy across all operating businesses and investment entities.
- Build an efficient cash management framework focused on maximizing liquidity and cash generation.
- Drive timely cash collections, dividend flows, and capital returns from portfolio companies, including operating businesses such as A2MP and other investments.
- Optimize working capital and funding strategies across the portfolio.
Strategic Finance
- Partner with the Principal on strategic initiatives, acquisitions, divestments, and new investment opportunities.
- Conduct commercial due diligence and financial evaluation of potential investments.
- Prepare board-quality financial presentations and strategic recommendations.
- Support long-term wealth preservation and value creation objectives.
Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team across the Family Office and associated entities.
- Build a high-performance finance function with a culture of accountability, ownership, and execution.
- Foster collaboration across investment, legal, tax, treasury, and operating business teams.
Candidate Profile
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Exceptional technical accounting expertise with a strong foundation in financial reporting and controls.
- Significant experience in Single Family Office, Private Equity, Investment Holding Company, Sovereign Wealth Fund, Private Investment Platform, or diversified multinational group structures.
- Strong experience in international tax planning, corporate structuring, and crossborder investments.
- Deep understanding of investment analysis, valuation, capital allocation, treasury, and portfolio management.
- Proven ability to prepare investment memorandums and present strategic recommendations to senior stakeholders.
- Strong commercial judgement combined with analytical rigor.
- Hands-on leadership style with the willingness to work at both strategic and operational levels.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with high levels of ownership and accountability.
- Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills.
Qualifications
- Chartered Accountant (CA), CPA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent professional qualification.
- MBA or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related discipline preferred.
- Minimum 15 years of progressive finance leadership experience.
- Experience managing diversified investment portfolios and multi-entity structures.
- Prior exposure to Family Offices, Investment Holdings, Private Equity, Infrastructure, Mining, Energy, or diversified industrial businesses will be an advantage.
