ABOUT THE COMPANY

Full job description

ABOUT THE COMPANY Eagle https://www.eagleeng.com/ is on a mission to re-energize the engineering profession. Every road, water system, and power grid starts at an engineering firm. There are 45,700 of them in the US, and most run on software older than the engineers using it. We partner deeply with engineering firms and build an AI-native operating system to give engineers superpowers: getting things done faster and better. Eagle was founded by Mayank Mardia (CEO), Sohum Daftary (President), and Thomas Shouler, P.E. (CTO), and is backed by Lightspeed Venture Partners. Read more about what we're building at eagleeng.com http://eagleeng.com. ABOUT THE ROLE As Chief of Staff at Eagle, you'll work with the Founders across building strategic partnerships with great engineering firms, helping those firms grow, and supporting Eagle's operations. You'll be an extension of the Founders, and in some places a replacement. We want you to own workstreams, important conversations, and meaningful decisions, to have a perspective, and to mobilize people to get things done. Part of your time will be onsite at our partner engineering firms driving growth, and part will be building Eagle. In this role, you'll:

  • 🤝 Earn trust onsite: Be onsite at our partner firms and earn the trust of principals and engineers who've never worked with a tech company.
  • 🗺️ Run the partnership cadence: Work with partner firm leadership on the 90-day plan, comp plan rollout, and key hires.
  • 🔍 Own relationships with founder-owners: Meet founder-owners of engineering firms and own the relationship from first call to signed partnership. Keep it high touch, and solve for their objectives.
  • ⚙️ Help run Eagle: Support Eagle's operations, including recruiting, logistics, and admin.
  • 🚀 Build the partnership: Help transform our partner engineering firms, against an industry backdrop that’s barely been touched by AI.
  • 📈 Grow as we grow: As we add partner firms, paths include leading new partnerships, operating roles at our partner firms, and senior roles at Eagle. We'll talk openly about where you want to go. There’s likely a lot more, ideally new activities created from opportunities you surface within Eagle or our partner firms. How your time splits: about a third building new partnerships, a third running Eagle, and a third onsite with our partner firms. The mix shifts as new partnerships launch. You Could Be a Great Fit If You:
  • Earn trust
  • With owners, founders, and executives
  • Through excellent communication, nuance, and persuasion
  • By bringing people along with clarity, empathy, and intention
  • Show up
  • Get on a plane, then implement the ideas you come up with
  • Unblock the work by meeting people, understanding them, and getting folks aligned
  • Stay curious
  • Ask hard questions and listen
  • Figure out things we (Founders) didn't know before
  • Learn very fast and lean into new domains
  • Find the better path
  • Use AI tools every day to work faster and automate systems
  • If you've built something with AI, we want to see it
  • Pick the faster, better, more cost-effective route, whether that's AI, people, or vendors
  • Are based in NYC, ideally
  • Elsewhere in the US works for the right fit
  • Travel onsite 6 to 8 days a month, mostly Southern California and New York
  • Some months run heavier, especially when a new partnership launches Bonus points for: having started something of your own, negotiating with or convincing people in high-stakes settings, or building a tool, dashboard, or automation with AI or low-code. HOW TO APPLY Apply at jobs.ashbyhq.com/eagle http://jobs.ashbyhq.com/eagle. If you've built or written something you're proud of, link it. We review applications on a rolling basis. Our process takes about 2 weeks: a conversation with Sohum or Mayank, a second founder conversation, an onsite where you walk us through a short case followed by dinner with the team, and references. We'll tell you where you stand after every step. Don't check every box? Apply anyway. We hire for hunger, curiosity, and people-empathy. WORKING @ EAGLE 💰 Compensation $200,000 to $250,000 base salary and equity, depending on experience and scope. We'll walk you through both in detail before any offer. ❤️ Benefits Health Insurance: Full healthcare, medical and dental Retirement: 401(k) PTO: Flexible time off Travel: Company-paid Office: HQ in New York City, open to you anytime 👥 From Mayank, Sohum, and Tom We're nice! We promise. We're small, fast, and in-person in New York. We ask a lot of questions, build each other up as professionals, and focus on delivering great outcomes. Sharing a little about us: Mayank https://www.linkedin.com/in/mayank-mardia/ (CEO) is the son of an engineering firm owner in post-Katrina New Orleans.
