Claims Operations Manager

ABOUT 8FLEET 8Fleet is a Los Angeles–based technology and logistics company building the operational infrastructure behind modern rideshare fleets. We operate in Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego, Atlanta and Miami, with more markets launching soon. ABOUT THE ROLE At 8Fleet, claims sit at the intersection of fleet availability, driver experience, insurance costs, repair expenses, operational risk and company economics. Today our accident and vehicle-incident claims run largely on manual workflows in Google Sheets. You'll manage those claims directly while building the claims function from the ground up: the processes, the standards and the reporting that turn claims data into decisions that save money. This role sits on our Central Operations team and is based in Los Angeles or San Francisco. WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Own accident and vehicle-incident claims across all markets, from first notice of loss through investigation, repair coordination, negotiation, settlement and closure.
• Build the incident intake and triage process, including what happens in the first 24 hours.
• Be the main contact for carriers, TPAs, adjusters and defense counsel, and hold them to clear expectations.
• Run subrogation and recovery as a real workstream.
• Partner with market leaders to turn accident trends and risk patterns into operational changes.
• Build claims reporting leadership can plan against: frequency, severity, cost per vehicle and open-claim aging.
• Move claims onto a proper system and support insurance renewals with clean loss data.
• Keep us compliant with state requirements in CA, GA, FL and each new market.
• Build the team as volume grows. WHAT YOU'LL BRING
• 7+ years in auto, fleet, transportation or commercial auto claims, including owning a claims function or program end to end.
• Experience with third-party liability and bodily injury claims.
• Strong claim-file judgment and experience working with TPAs and defense counsel.
• Confidence pushing back on carriers on reserves and coverage.
• Multi-state experience, ideally including California.
• A methodical approach and comfort building process where none exists. NICE TO HAVE
• AIC, SCLA, ARM or similar designation.
• Self-insured or large-deductible program experience.
• Fleet, rideshare, delivery or logistics background.
