Research Ireland is funding eligible Ireland-based academic partners and coordinators in selected modules of the Clean Energy Transition Partnership Joint Call 2026.

Projects may run for up to 36 months. Research Ireland supports Irish partners with up to €330,000 in direct costs or Irish coordinators with up to €405,000 in direct costs; maximum total awards including overhead are €430,000 for a partner and €530,000 for a coordinator. Research Ireland participates in six specified 2026 call modules covering energy-system resilience and flexibility, renewable technologies, hydrogen and renewable fuels, regional energy systems and built-environment integration.
Eligibility requirements
The Irish applicant must be an academic partner or coordinator based in an eligible Irish Host Research Body, hold a PhD or equivalent for at least three years by the pre-proposal deadline, meet the published employment or independent-investigator conditions, be an author on at least three eligible international peer-reviewed original-research articles, and satisfy the CETP consortium and call requirements. Research Ireland accepts one application per applicant.
