Full job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Clinical Associate - Medical Assistant based in the United States. This is a remote opportunity within a virtual-first healthcare environment supporting patients across multiple clinical programs. The role combines patient-facing communication, care coordination, administrative support, and close collaboration with licensed clinical teams. You will help members navigate complex healthcare needs, coordinate services, and address gaps in care. Working closely with clinicians, pharmacies, laboratories, imaging providers, and other healthcare partners, you will help keep care plans moving forward. The position is particularly suited to someone who brings empathy, organization, adaptability, and strong communication skills to every interaction. You will work with modern telehealth, electronic health record, workflow, and AI-enabled tools in a fast-moving environment. Occasional weekend hours may be available through optional overtime.

Support virtual clinical programs by preparing for visits, coordinating follow-up activities, and helping ensure members receive timely, well-organized care. Coordinate orders and services, including durable medical equipment, skilled nursing, home health services, laboratory testing, and imaging. Track laboratory and imaging results carefully and ensure relevant results are routed to the appropriate clinician for review when applicable. Communicate approved information to members, help coordinate follow-up care, and provide educational guidance under the direction of licensed clinical professionals. Coordinate with healthcare providers and internal clinical teams to collect medical records, gather relevant information, schedule and confirm appointments, and manage outbound communications. Act as a member advocate by responding to and returning calls related to care coordination, helping patients navigate fragmented healthcare systems with empathy and professionalism. Review internal program referrals and distribute welcome kits, educational materials, and other resources as appropriate. Help members complete preventive health activities and close identified care gaps, particularly within populations requiring coordinated support. Maintain accurate documentation and manage a high-volume member panel while balancing inbound, outbound, digital, and other workflow queues. Work collaboratively across clinical programs and teams, providing cross-functional support as priorities and operational needs evolve. Adopt new technologies and workflow tools, including electronic health records, digital platforms, automated queues, advanced dialers, and AI-enabled solutions. Escalate clinical concerns raised by members to the appropriate licensed professionals; this position does not involve independent clinical decision-making or activities requiring professional licensure. Requirements Medical Assistant certification is highly preferred; active or expired certifications are accepted, with documentation required. Candidates without certification may be asked to provide a Medical Assistant school diploma and transcripts if they have significant relevant experience. At least 2 years of patient-facing experience, preferably with exposure to telehealth or virtual healthcare delivery. Experience with care coordination is strongly valued, particularly supporting Medicare populations with preventive screenings and quality-care activities such as A1c testing, blood pressure monitoring, colorectal cancer screening, diabetes eye exams, and breast cancer screening. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage a large member panel, potentially exceeding 100 members, while adapting to changing priorities and workflows. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with physicians, nurses, pharmacies, caregivers, members, and other stakeholders. Demonstrated empathy and the ability to reduce stress and anxiety for members during challenging healthcare situations. Comfort communicating with members through video, phone, and digital patient portals. Ability to learn and navigate new technologies quickly, including electronic health records, Google Chrome, Google Sheets, AI tools, automated workflows, and advanced communication platforms. Strong initiative, adaptability, and problem-solving skills, combined with the ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative, cross-trained team. A genuine commitment to helping people improve their health and navigate the healthcare system with compassion, warmth, and respect. Professional fluency in both English and Spanish is a strong advantage. Experience working with older adults, Medicare populations, or within healthcare environments is beneficial. Benefits Compensation: $23.00–$27.00 per hour. Remote work opportunity within the United States. Employer-sponsored medical, dental, and vision coverage with low or no employee premiums. Generous paid time off. $100 monthly mobile or internet stipend. Stock options for eligible employees. Parental leave program. 401(k) program. Potential bonus eligibility depending on role and applicable program terms. Opportunities to work with modern virtual-care, digital health, and AI-enabled technologies. Collaborative environment focused on compassionate, member-centered healthcare. Optional overtime opportunities, including occasional weekend hours.
