Overview

Collegium Helveticum is accepting nominations for up to four NOMIS Senior Fellowships for distinguished interdisciplinary researchers, with the current September 2027–June 2028 nomination window closing 30 September 2026.

Complete fellowship details

NOMIS Senior Fellows pursue their research primarily on site at the Collegium and collaborate with faculty at ETH Zurich, the University of Zurich or Zurich University of the Arts. Fellowships usually last five or ten months. The fellowship provides financial compensation and infrastructure; the application-stage budget may include living expenses, childcare, a collaborator's short guest stay, research costs and, where justified, teaching-relief support.

Eligibility requirements

Nominees should be internationally recognized mid-career or established researchers with sustained scholarly achievement, a permanent position at a recognized higher-education or research institution, interdisciplinary research ambitions, and an age of no more than 70 at the fellowship start. Nominations may come from eligible units, leadership, faculty or advisory-board members; self-nominations require support from at least two faculty members at the three supporting institutions.

Tips for this fellowship

Practical Job and Scholarship guidance. These tips do not replace official rules or create new eligibility requirements.

  1. Check eligibility, funding coverage, study/project level and every required document before investing time in the application.
  2. Prepare transcripts, references, language tests, proposal/motivation statement and proof documents early.
  3. Separate the scholarship deadline from any university/program admission deadline; they may be different.
  4. Treat “fully funded” as a source fact only when the official provider explicitly confirms the covered costs.

Verification notes

Verified from the current Collegium Helveticum fellowship page and its 18 August 2026 call notice. Nominations for spring 2027 are under review, while later terms remain open. The 30 September 2026 deadline applies to fellowships in the 1 September 2027–30 June 2028 period. No deadline time is stated.
