New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) seeks to appoint a Commercial Events Specialist reporting to the Assistant Director, Commercial and University Events.

The Specialist should increase community participation across NYUAD sports, arts, conference and meeting space facilities through the design and delivery of diverse, exciting and commercially successful events and activities, targeting individuals, groups and organizations from Abu Dhabi and the UAE. Manage resources responsible for delivering a range of events. Work closely with NYUAD stake holders and Tamkeen counterparts to develop and deliver programs focused on Abu Dhabi, UAE and broader community participation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and execute events and activities to expand the use of sports, arts, conference and meeting facilities by external constituents from the local area, Abu Dhabi and wider UAE community

• Prepare worksheets, quotations for assigned events and manage all AV, catering & facilities requirements through NYUAD staff, Royal catering, EFS and campus safety

• Support University Events team in major events such as Commencement Exercises etc.

• Prepare forecasts, monthly reports, presentations for the past and upcoming events

• Engage and partner with the NYUAD TCA team to get appropriate licenses required to host events

Qualifications

Required Education:

• Bachelors Degree

Required Experience:

• 5+ years in the Events Management experience

• Familiar with various UAE Events licensing requirements ADTA, TCA etc. UAE experience a plus.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Outstanding client service skills

• Ability to negotiate, influence and build strong relationships

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office

• Produce proposals, contracts and other related booking tools

• Able to prepare, present monthly reports for data reporting and forecasts

• Available to work on Weekends, holidays & evenings, within a short notice period, as and when required

• Fluent in English

• UAE Driver’s License required
