Overview

What is Coast

Full job description

What is Coast Coast is re-imagining the trillion-dollar U.S. B2B card payments infrastructure, with a focus on the country’s 500,000 commercial fleets, 40 million commercial vehicles, and many millions of commercial drivers. The incumbent technologies that cater to these customers are decades old, and businesses with fleets increasingly demand modern digital experiences and transparent financial services products. Coast’s mission is to deliver this at a transformational scale, beginning with the Coast Fleet and Fuel Card built on a cutting-edge spend management platform. About the Role We're hiring a Compliance Analyst to help build and run our BSA/AML/OFAC program. This is a hands-on role for someone who wants to work close to the transaction data  investigating alerts, spotting patterns, and turning findings into action while helping shape how a compliance program gets built from the ground up at a fast-moving fintech. You'll work directly with senior compliance leadership, giving you visibility and influence well beyond a typical analyst seat. This role is a strong fit for someone who wants ownership early in their career: you'll help define the processes, not just follow them, and you'll have room to bring AI-powered tools into how the work gets done from day one. What You’ll Do Monitor and investigate suspicious activity Conduct account and transaction-level reviews to identify unusual patterns and escalate suspicious activity. Review system-generated alerts and support the drafting of Unusual Activity Reports (UARs). Support the sanctions and AML program Apply OFAC screening and BSA/AML controls to daily case work and escalations. Identify and label patterns of unusual activity, including reporting to financial partners. Track developments in BSA, AML and OFAC enforcement and guidance, and flag implications for Coast's practices. Track KRIs/KPIs that measure the health of the AML program. Respond to audit, partner bank, and regulatory requests. Use SQL and internal/external data sources to spot system vulnerabilities and compliance gaps. Testing and oversight Conduct quality assurance testing of underwriting and credit decisioning processes, adverse action notices, and account practices for ECOA, SCRA, and FCRA adherence, collaborating with process owners to build corrective action plans where gaps are identified. Other compliance support Support additional compliance initiatives and cross-functional projects as they arise, including emerging regulatory requirements and policy development. Assist with ad hoc risk assessments and internal audits as needed. Help build out processes and documentation for new or evolving compliance areas where none yet exist. Respond to compliance-related questions from internal teams (product, engineering, sales, customer support) and escalate as appropriate. Take on other compliance-related projects and duties to support important Company initiatives and priorities. Partner across the business Work cross-functionally with Legal, Risk, and Product to keep policies and controls current. Support senior Compliance team members on key initiatives and reporting to governance committees. What Success Looks Like In your first year, you'll be successful if you: Independently manage a caseload of BSA/AML/OFAC alerts and investigations, from initial review through UAR filing. Become the go-to point of contact for day-to-day BSA/AML/OFAC compliance operations. Identify and help close at least one meaningful gap in monitoring coverage or process. Build a trusted, responsive working relationship with our partner bank and stakeholders. Bring AI tools into your workflow in a way that measurably speeds up investigations or reporting. Contribute analysis or reporting that shapes a real decision made by compliance leadership. Demonstrate you can flex into adjacent compliance work as needed, not just your core caseload. Requirements  2+ years of experience in a BSA/AML/OFAC compliance role, ideally at a fintech or other closely regulated industry. AI-native mindset : you're already using AI tools in your daily work and you're excited to push further. Experience with transaction monitoring or alerts screening systems, and comfort writing SQL queries against large datasets. Strong analytical instincts  comfortable pulling metrics, spotting trends, and translating data into operational decisions. Excellent written and verbal communication. Bias toward action and process-building  you don't wait for someone to hand you a playbook. Comfortable in ambiguity you can build structure where none exists without losing momentum. Experience in fintech, payments, B2B SaaS, or financial services preferred. Based in Salt Lake City or New York City; able to be in-office 3–4 days per week. Compensation and Benefits Our salary ranges are based on paying competitively for our size and industry, and are one part of our total compensation package that also includes benefits and equity. Pay decisions are based on a number of factors, including scope and qualifications for the role, experience level, skillset, and balancing internal equity relative to other Coast employees. We expect the majority of candidates who are offered roles at Coast to fall healthily within the range based on these factors. Salary range : $60,000 – $75,000 annually  Equity Grant : Meaningful potential upside given Coast’s early-stage trajectory Benefits Overview : Medical, dental and vision insurance Flexible paid time off (vacation, personal well being, paid holidays) Tools to help manage your financial wellness, including webinars, access to an equity tax advisory service, and company-sponsored 401(k) Paid parental leave $400 accessories allowance (a keyboard, mouse, headphones, etc.) Education stipend Free lunch every Friday Coast is committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion. We are building a diverse and inclusive environment, so we encourage people of all backgrounds to apply. We’re an Equal Opportunity Employer and do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, religion, disability, national origin, protected veteran status, or any other status protected by applicable federal, state, or local law.
