Full job description

Your Role & How We Work

As our Compliance Manager (m/f/d), you own a diverse set of tasks and controls from day one while closely collaborating with our Legal, Risk & Compliance team and reporting into our Senior Compliance Manager. As we move to mid-size investment firm status, you turn new and updated regulatory requirements into daily practice and build the AI-enabled tooling that keeps a lean team compliant as we grow.

Your priorities in this role will include:

  • Control Framework. You run and advance our internal control and compliance management system - periodic compliance, risk, AML/CFT and data protection controls, monitoring, and internal reporting - and keep it current as the rules change.

  • Cross-functional advisory. You are the first point of contact for other departments on compliance-relevant questions, and you design and run compliance trainings.

  • Regulatory Projects. You carry compliance workstreams tied to our regulatory transformation and to upcoming operational-resilience requirements, working closely with the IT function.

  • AI Automation. You help build our compliance tooling and develop AI-based workflows that automate manual compliance work, with direct engineering support.

The Experience You Bring

  • 2 to 3+ years of relevant experience in compliance, ideally within a regulated environment with a connection to finance (the finance link is a plus, not a must).

  • A completed degree in law (strongly preferred), economics, or a comparable field; a focus in economic or European law is welcome.

  • Familiarity with the relevant regulatory frameworks (e.g., KWG, WpHG, KAGB, GwG, MAR, GDPR, MiFID II) is an advantage.

  • You grasp complex issues quickly and turn them into pragmatic, workable recommendations.

  • You read and navigate German regulatory documents confidently; full German fluency is not required, and English is our working language.

  • A genuine affinity for digital tools and AI, with the ability to co-drive automation.

2 Reasons Why You Should Not Apply

  • You seek a single-topic compliance role with routinely executed tasks as part of a larger compliance team? This position is deliberately broad and hands-on, covering controls, AML/CFT, data protection, training, and regulatory projects, and we offer real room to shape how the function develops.

  • You see AI and automation as someone else's job? Building compliance tooling yourself is a real part of this role, and we give you engineering support and the freedom to use it.

Your Mindset

  • You are passionate about stocks, financial markets, and technology.

  • You work precisely and take ownership: you document clearly and flag gaps proactively, without being asked.

  • You use AI tools as a matter of course and consistently think about automating your own remit.

  • You get things done and do not wait for perfect conditions.

  • You are a builder and enjoy fast and result-oriented development.

What we offer

  • A broad, hands-on compliance mandate at a growing, regulated asset manager: you help build the function, not just administer it.

  • Direct access to management, including Matthias (Managing Director & Chief Compliance Officer), and short decision paths in a team of 40+ colleagues from 15 nations.

  • Real room to shape our compliance tooling, including building AI-supported applications in the legal and compliance space.

  • An environment where the team is significantly invested in its own funds and technology sits at the center.

Requirements & qualifications
