Construction Foreman

CONSTRUCTION FOREMAN Starbase is expanding its site infrastructure to support ongoing operations and growth. As a Construction Foreman on the Starbase Infrastructure team, you will lead a crew of technicians, laborers, and contractors in the field to build, maintain, and improve industrial facilities, utilities, and civil infrastructure across the site. Work may include earthwork, concrete, carpentry, structural steel, mechanical, electrical, piping, plumbing, HVAC, and related site utilities. RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead day-to-day field work for assigned infrastructure projects, including work assignments, crew productivity, quality, and schedule Supervise and instruct technicians, laborers, and subcontractors; set daily priorities and resolve field conflicts Read and interpret drawings, specifications, and survey control to lay out work and verify grades, elevations, and dimensions Plan and sequence construction activities across a range of trades as assigned (earthwork, concrete, framing, MEP, finishes, and related civil/industrial work) Coordinate material deliveries, staging, equipment, and tools so the crew can work without delay Estimate labor, materials, and equipment needs for assigned scopes; requisition materials and maintain simple, accurate field records Enforce SpaceX safety policies and jobsite cleanliness; stop work for unsafe conditions and ensure incident reporting procedures are followed Perform and oversee hands-on construction work as needed Use hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment; ensure tools and equipment are maintained and secured at the end of each shift Coordinate with engineering, project management, and adjacent trades to keep work aligned with broader site goals Maintain a daily log of crew activities, progress, issues, and manpower; report status to supervision as required Adjust crew size, sequence, and methods as needed to meet deadlines and quality standards; escalate issues that affect cost, schedule, or design BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalency certificate  2+ years of experience as a foreman or crew lead PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: Experience leading crews in a general construction or multi-trade environment Familiarity with common construction trades such as earthwork, concrete, carpentry, mechanical, electrical, piping, and site utilities Knowledge of standard methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in industrial and civil construction Ability to interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and specifications, and to make field calculations for areas, volumes, and material quantities Ability to instruct and direct skilled, semi-skilled, and unskilled workers Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety practices applicable to construction work Experience in a fast-paced construction environment with changing priorities Written and verbal communication skills; use of MS Outlook and Teams Experience with heavy equipment, forklifts, boom lifts, and/or scissor lifts Ability to offer field feedback to the design team to improve cost, quality, and constructibility ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Work hours depend on site priorities and may require extended hours, weekends, and holidays; flexibility required Periodic work in extreme outdoor environments: heat, cold, wind, rain Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to perform regular manual labor Must be able to stand for long periods of time; work at heights, climbing up and down ladders, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, and stretching may be required Ability to work in confined spaces as required by the work Must have a valid driver’s license ITAR REQUIREMENTS: To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
