JOB SUMMARY
The Construction Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all onsite construction activities to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and in accordance with approved specifications, drawings, quality standards, and company procedures. The role involves supervising contractors, subcontractors, field personnel, and construction teams while ensuring compliance with HSE and QA/QC requirements throughout the project lifecycle. The Construction Superintendent serves as the key field representative for project execution and plays a critical role in construction planning, progress monitoring, workforce coordination, and stakeholder communication.
Job Objectives
- Supervise and coordinate all onsite construction activities to ensure safe, efficient, and timely project execution.
- Ensure that engineering designs, construction methods, and completed works meet required technical, quality, and safety standards throughout the project lifecycle.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervise all onsite construction activities and ensure work is executed according to approved drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
- Coordinate construction activities across multiple disciplines including civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and infrastructure works.
- Monitor contractor and subcontractor performance, productivity, workmanship, and compliance with project requirements.
- Ensure implementation of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) procedures and promote a strong safety culture onsite.
- Conduct regular site inspections, toolbox talks, safety walk-throughs, and progress meetings.
- Verify quality of construction works and ensure compliance with QA/QC standards and inspection procedures.
- Review work permits, method statements, risk assessments, and construction work packs before execution.
- Identify construction challenges and provide practical solutions to minimize delays and disruptions.
- Monitor project schedules and ensure construction milestones are achieved within agreed timelines.
- Liaise with project engineers, consultants, architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
- Review and report daily construction progress, delays, incidents, and corrective actions.
- Provide civil engineering input for completion documentation and support integrated commissioning and start-up activities.
Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree (B.Sc./B.Eng.) in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Building Technology, or related Engineering discipline or candidate with demonstrated vast wealth of hands on experience on similar roles from Tier1 construction companies.
Experience
- Minimum of 10–15 years’ experience in construction supervision and project execution.
- At least 7 years in a supervisory role within large-scale construction, infrastructure, industrial, oil & gas(Construction), or real estate projects.
- Experience managing contractors and subcontractors on multidiscipline construction projects.
- Experience in high-rise buildings, Building construction, infrastructure, industrial and commercial facilities, or heavy civil construction is an added advantage. Key Competency Requirements Knowledge Skill
