Counselor – Inpatient Substance Use Disorder Treatment

Location: Newport News, VA Salary: $50,000 - $65,000 per year Schedule: Sunday through Thursday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM Licensure Required: LPC, LCSW, Licensed-Eligible Resident, or CSAC

Position Summary

As a Counselor, you will play a key role in supporting clients throughout their recovery. This position provides clinical services, maintains accurate documentation, and contributes to a safe, therapeutic, and supportive treatment environment.

Schedule

Full-time, Sunday through Thursday

• 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and review individualized treatment plans with the multidisciplinary treatment team

• Facilitate individual therapy, family sessions, and therapeutic groups

• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in the EHR

• Provide documentation and support for utilization reviews as needed

• Coordinate care with referral sources and outpatient providers

• Assist with aftercare planning and tracking client outcomes

• Contribute to curriculum development and staff training

• Help maintain a safe and therapeutic environment, including crisis intervention when needed

Qualifications

Licensure:

• LPC, LCSW, Licensed-Eligible Resident, or CSAC required

Education:

• Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field preferred

Skills & Experience:

• Strong clinical judgment and ability to respond effectively to crisis situations

• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
